Why the Exact Part Number Matters

When it comes to Sony TVs, using just the model number isn’t enough. Sony often releases several hardware versions under one TV model, so parts can vary significantly. Ordering by model alone can lead to:

  • ❌ Wrong board revisions
  • ❌Incorrect replacements
  • ❌ Incompatible firmware or layouts
  • ❌ Delays from returns or reorders

To avoid frustration, always use the actual part number generally printed on the white sticker itself.

Step 1: Remove the Back Cover of Your TV

Unplug your Sony TV and lay it flat on a padded flat surface. Carefully remove the screws on the back panel. Once removed, you’ll see multiple internal boards.

Step 2: Locate the Board You’re Replacing

Common boards include:

  • Main Board – Controls processing, inputs, HDMI, etc.
  • Power Supply Board – Handles AC power input
  • T-Con Board – Drives the image to the LCD panel

Find the board that matches the issue you're troubleshooting (no video, no sound, no power, etc.)

Step 3: Find the White Barcode Sticker

This is where Sony prints the part number you need. Look for a white rectangular sticker that usually includes:

  • A barcode
  • Alphanumeric code (often begins with 1- or A-)
  • Example: 1-474-484-11 or A-5042-769-A

Sony Power Supply Boards: The Powerhouse of Your TV

The power supply board is usually the largest board inside your Sony TV—and it’s often located right where the power cord connects. If your TV won’t turn on, has flickering power, or shuts off randomly, this is the first board to check. 🔍

🔢 Common Sony Power Supply Part Number Formats:

▶️ Label Format:
A 9-digit number starting with “1”
Example: 147448411
📌 Found on a white barcode sticker or QR code label.

▶️ Board Format (With Dashes):
Looks like 1-004-422-11
📌 May be printed directly on the PCB or on a label.

⚠️ If it’s printed on a label, the dashes might be missing — so examine it closely!

What NOT to Use

Don’t rely on:

  • Stamped numbers on the PCB (like 5-013-420-01) – This is the board number
  • TV model number – It doesn’t guarantee board compatibility
