Samsung TV vertical lines troubleshooting guide - Short Circuit Solution
Need repair help? Not sure which board or part your TV needs? Repair Help

Vertical lines on a Samsung TV can come from the signal path, T-Con circuitry, panel ribbons, or the LCD panel itself. Because a bad panel can look very similar to a replaceable board fault, diagnosis matters before ordering parts.

Look at the Pattern

Single fixed lines, groups of colored lines, half-screen faults, and lines that change with temperature do not all point to the same component. Note whether the on-screen menu is also affected.

T-Con Board Possibilities

On models with a separate T-Con board, timing or voltage problems can produce lines, washed colors, double images, or half-screen faults. Compare with our T-Con board guide.

Ribbon Cable Checks

With power disconnected, inspect the LVDS and panel ribbons for poor seating, contamination, or physical damage. Be gentle: panel-side ribbons and tabs can be extremely fragile.

Main Board vs. Panel

If the main board sends corrupted video data, the picture can be abnormal across all inputs. However, narrow permanent lines that remain in exactly the same screen position often raise concern for the panel or its bonded drivers.

Do Not Order by Appearance

Samsung boards can look identical across revisions. Match the original BN94, BN44, or applicable assembly number using our Samsung part-number guide.

Need Help With Your Repair?

If you are unsure which part you need, send us your TV model number, the exact part number from the original board, and a few clear photos. Our team can help you verify the match before you order.

Short Circuit Solution sells tested replacement TV parts backed by our 180-Day Warranty. We recommend matching by the original part number whenever possible instead of relying on appearance alone.

Safety note: Disconnect power before opening a TV. Power-supply sections can retain dangerous voltage after the set is unplugged. If you are not comfortable working around electronics, use a qualified technician.
