Can you swap TV boards and why exact part numbers matter
Need repair help? Send us your TV brand, full model number, and the part number printed on the original board. We can help you narrow down the correct replacement before you order.

It is tempting to assume that a board from the same TV model—or a board that looks identical—will work as a replacement. In reality, manufacturers often use multiple board revisions, panels, tuners, firmware configurations, and connector layouts within the same model family.

Match the service part number first

The most reliable identifier is usually the manufacturer service part number on the original board label. Bare PCB numbers may identify the board design but not the complete programmed assembly.

Board revisions can matter

A later or earlier revision may change memory, tuner, panel programming, connector population, or firmware. Even if every screw hole lines up, the board may not initialize the panel correctly.

The same model can use different internal parts

Production changes are common. Serial-number ranges, version codes, panel codes, and manufacturing dates can determine which board belongs in a particular TV.

Use model compatibility as confirmation—not the primary match

Compatibility lists are useful after you have the exact board number. Start with the original part number, then verify the TV model and version. Our TV board part-number guide explains the process in detail.

Before you order a replacement

Photograph the original board label, the TV model/serial label, and the connector layout. Compare those details to the replacement listing and avoid ordering only from appearance. If you are unsure, contact us with the photos before purchasing.
